About the Quartet
The Quartet (also known as "The Less Than Three Club") is a group of four girls with a passion for music, theater, and being totally bizarre. We enjoy Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom and a number of other sexy pirates and have a considerable amount of fun fighting over them. Fantasy books and movies are amazing. Two words: Harry Potter.

Ok, guys. Here's the thing. If we're going to do anything next Friday night...I need to know, because my dad needs to ask off, and we don't want to waste his vacation time. So, whatever we're doing, we need to sort of finalize it. Um, the other thing is that I know I don't have enough cash to buy 2 $20 gifts...maybe we could keep a limit to $5 or $10? I tried to make my list as cheap as possible, but this is the problem with all 3 of us having birthdays in February...thoughts?

I know that I already said this to Laura and Sarah...but...since 3/4 of the Quartet has birthdays in February, why don't we do one night where we get together and do gifts and pizza/movie or bowling or something fun? I was thinking maybe a Friday night (the 11th? perhaps?) So, let me know what is working for you guys. Ok, bye now.

What: A caroling party! It's fun!

When: December 11th, 4 PM - 9 or 10 PM

Where: Laura's House ( 690 Bonesteel Street)

Why: Because it's a yearly tradition and it's ever so much fun! We sing and then go back to my house and eat and hole up in my room which will be very crowded if everyone I invited comes but OH WELL! It'll be fun!

(There's a much fancier invitation but I can't get it to load. ;__; )

Gosh our community is dead...
So, 85 on Math B. Not bad...I'm ok with that. Dropped Voice and added
AP Physics, so now my schedule works. Yay, I guess. I'm glad that it
worked out and everything...but I just really wanted voice.
Um, leaving for Alleghany on Sunday. Speaking of, Heidi? Are we still
helping you on Saturday?
Laura? Has Janman called you about an officer's meeting? I haven't
heard anything except the tentative date on the 28th, and I was
wondering if you knew what was up.
Um, Last of the Mohicans is one of the best films ever made and I'd
forgotten how much I loved it. Fully plan on purchasing the book to
read on the way down to Alleghany (because I'd really rather not bring
my English book and lose it).
I don't really have anything else to say...but the Jareth was lonely,

I invited Sarah over...Collapse )

This project kind of failed.

To fix that, here is a picture of Jareth. Unfortunately rape pants not available.

So, I was looking around for some names of the elemental creatures we were talking about. It's hard, because the classical mytholgies don't usually give names to them. Oh, I also read that dryads are an air creature. Erm? I dunno, I only saw that once. But I did find names of some dryads and hamadryads, and some nereids (water nymphs) and oceanids (ocean nymphs).

- Daphne, the most famous.
- Eurydice

Nereids and Oceanids
There's a boatload of namesCollapse )

I couldn't find any name or translation for "phoenix", and "salamander" is kind of lame... and then I got lazy and stopped looking for fire spirits.

I found a Fairy Name Generator, which isn't classic, but it's cute. Then I found this site,, which has more names.

Hi Quartet!
I <3 our new community thing...it's oodles of fun. Um, does it disturb anyone how many other people are interested in mooks? And why is my name the only one of the four of us that isn't in bold type? Ok, anyways, down to the updating...

Dance Recital - went as smooth as it always does...meaning not at all. I danced all right, just other things were mookish. If you ask me, I'll elaborate, otherwise I won't bother typing it all down here.

The new dentist made my gums bleed :( Mook.

Speaking of mooks, Stalkermook guess what?! I finally read Sabriel, and couldn't put it down, so I proceeded to go to Media Play and buy the other two, and now am almost done with Lirael (which is almost as long as book 4 HP, so yeah). Also, my aunt brought over a rather incriminating video tape today of a certain karaoke song from a certain party, that I'm sure this certain mook wouldn't enjoy seeing...lol. It's bad...truly awful. I almost wet my pants.

Laura dreams about me, which I find terribly sweet...I'll have to type out the dream I had the other night, except I can't remember much. Basically it was me following my grandfather down this road on a tricycle, passing a swamp thing, and a latina woman telling us to turn around because we went the wrong way. Ahem...don't know where the hell that came from. I'd much prefer Tim Curry pirate dreams myself.

Hmmm....I saw Secret Window. I felt all smart 'cause I thought I'd figured out the ending...but no. *sigh* Johnny had some good one-liners in it though.

One of my girls from dance proceeded to tell me the other day that Orlando Bloom was hideous. I just glared at her and walked away.

Laura dearest, apparently I was invited to the Oracle picnic (though I have no idea why...I wrote, no, co-wrote one article...but apparently it merits an invitation). So, I'll see you on Thursday if you're going. Yay!
Sarahmook is in Boston for the party...oh well, her loss, lol.

Umm, nothing else really to say....I'll talk to you all soon, I'm sure. I miss you guys already :(
